Our client is largest plastics recycler in Australia and New Zealand and one of the region's biggest user of recycled materials. They have 6,000+ team members, operate 110 manufacturing facilities across 15 countries, and their customers include some of the world's largest brands that consumers know and trust.
They are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Fitter to join their dynamic team.
The primary purpose of the Fitter is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required
Main Accountabilities
Maintenance and Repair
•Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
•Maintain assigned Site services including, compressed air, cooling water systems and waste treatment.
•Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals.
•Coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure effective support for safety, quality, and operational improvements
Installation
•Install, assemble and test new machinery and equipment as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
•Collaborate with OEM manufacturers to install and commission equipment.
Troubleshooting
•Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
•Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on a range of specialized equipment, including extruders, shredders, granulators and wash lines.
•Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained
Safety Compliance
•Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards.
•Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Documentation:
•Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent.
