According to Nick, the initial investment in the Guldmann technology pays for itself in just a few years. This advanced lifting technology makes it possible for a single nurse or caregiver to move a patient from their bed to a wheelchair or bathroom, where previously two or more people were needed.
HLS Healthcare has supplied 24 'H track systems' to the ICU and a further 14 units to wards on levels 4 and 5 of the IESS Centre at Wollongong Hospital. Several of these systems have multiple curves, enabling patients to be easily transferred between the bed and the ensuite. A combination of fixed and portable hoist motors has also been fitted to the tracks.
Self-installing portable hoist motors are a unique feature of the Guldmann system. These motors are designed to self-install to and from the track, which means the staff doesn’t have to lift or reach up to attach the motor onto the track.
Several hospitals, nursing homes, aged care homes, schools, special accommodation facilities and residential homes across Australia have partnered with HLS Healthcare for their patient handling requirements.
